The prize draw is being run by PERICLES, an EU-funded H2020 research and innovation project (https://www.pericles-heritage.eu/). It will be administered by the PERICLES team at the Environment and Geography Department, Wentworth Way, University of York, York YO10 3NG, UK on behalf of the PERICLES project.
Eligibility to enter
This prize draw is open to all residents of the UK, Denmark, The Netherlands and Estonia only (excluding all PERICLES staff members, their immediate families, and all employees of PERICLES partner organisations).
The prize draw is open to entrants of all ages. If the winner is under 18 years old, they must provide consent from a parent or legal guardian in order to receive their prize. PERICLES reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant drawn at random if consent is not provided.
To enter the prize draw, you must complete the entry form on the PERICLES prize draw website here.
In entering, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win.
All entrants must have registered for an account on the Map Your Heritage portal (https://mapyourheritage.eu/) and have uploaded at least one item of user-generated content that is accepted by moderation by the close of the prize draw.
You must use the same email address to register on the Map Your Heritage portal and to enter the prize draw.
All user-generated content must meet the moderation criteria to be a qualifying submission. Any content that does not meet the moderation criteria will be rejected by a member of the PERICLES team, will be removed from the portal, and will not be eligible for entry into the prize draw.
Any accounts with existing content already entered on to the portal are automatically eligible to enter the prize draw.
Entries must be received by 23:59 CET on 31st August 2021 to be entered into the prize draw. Entries received after this specified time and date will not be eligible for entry into the competition.
Only one entry per person. Second or subsequent entries will be disqualified.
The prize draw is free to enter.
By entering the competition you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
Moderation criteria
All user-generated content must be relevant, appropriate, accurate, and complete as possible.
Any user-generated content containing incorrect, false, or unreadable information will be rejected.
Any user-generated content that may reasonably be considered to be disruptive, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, hateful, racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable will be rejected.
Any unsolicited advertising, promotional materials, or commercial activity will be rejected.
Any illegal or unlawful content will be rejected.
The prize
The prize will be one iPad 10.2-inch Wi-Fi 128GB – Silver. One winner will be selected.
The winner of the competition will be drawn at random from all correct entries across all participating countries by an electronic system.
The prize is non-refundable, non-transferable, and subject to availability. No cash or prize alternatives will be offered. No guarantee is given as to the quality of the prize.
We reserve the right to substitute prizes with another prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond our control make it necessary to do so.
PERICLES’s use of particular brands as prizes does not imply any affiliation with or endorsement of such brands.
Winner announcement
The winner will be notified by email within 7 days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted within 14 days, PERICLES reserves the right to select another winner. PERICLES will use reasonable endeavours to deliver all prizes within one (1) month of the competition ending, however PERICLES is not liable for any delay in the delivery of any prize.
PERICLES is not responsible for contacting or forwarding prizes to entrants who provide unclear or incomplete information or for entries lost, misdirected, delayed, or destroyed.
Data protection and publicity
The winner will be contacted by PERICLES to seek their consent to use their name and, following the receipt of such consent, may see their names mentioned on the PERICLES’ website and all related social media accounts or in printed materials.
The winner’s name and country can be obtained by sending an email to mapyourheritage-group@york.ac.uk within 30 days after the closing date of the prize draw.
Copyright to all media entries will remain with the entrant under Creative Commons licence (CC BY-SA 4.0) and this licences PERICLES to use their media across websites and social media with appropriate attribution.
Any personal information you give us will be used solely for this competition and will not be passed on to any other parties without your agreement. All personal information shall be used in accordance with the PERICLES Privacy Notice (https://mapyourheritage.eu/terms-conditions-privacy/).
Limitation liability
All entrants are expected to act fairly and in the good spirit of the competition. PERICLES reserves the right to investigate any irregularities and disqualify entrants at its absolute discretion.
Under no circumstances will PERICLES be responsible for any loss, damages, costs, or expenses arising from or in any way connected with any errors, defects, interruptions, malfunctions, or delays in the promotion of the competition or prize.
PERICLES does not provide any form of practical or IT support for this prize. On receipt, all responsibilities relating to warranty and the product are that of the prize winner.
The decision of PERICLES regarding any aspect of the prize draw or competition is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it.
General
PERICLES reserves the right to cancel the prize draw or amend these terms and conditions at any time, without prior notice.
PERICLES will not be responsible unless required by law, for any loss, changes, costs, or expenses, which may arise in connection with this competition and PERICLES can cancel or alter the competition at any stage.
Any dispute relating to the competition shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales and will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
